  This place is screaming for John Taffer to show up and rescue them. The first clue should have told us that this is not good was how empty it was on a Friday night. Secondly. When we got our appetizer to share and asked for plates, they provided us paper boat to use. When we got our, it has absolutely no flavor as if they were frozen seafood instead of fresh food.

  One word could sum this up, #Excellent... Food, staff, and complete atmosphere, was superb, and to add, that the building is really something to see, I loved the whole experience, I asked how long they had been open for business, and was told three years, it's a weekend only restaurant, that opens at 4p.m., about the time we arrived, so we were the only 2 customers, at the time, and then others started coming in, yet they continued to treat us, as tho we were the only 2 there, never hesitant to return to our table, and to attend to our every need... Completely, a satisfying experience it was... And the building is actually an old cotton gin. "Great"

  Good seafood served in an old renovated cotton gin. I think they are only open weekends right now

  I was expecting expensive food and I would not have minded a $60 bill for three people (drinking water, no alcohol, no appetizer, no dessert) had the food been good and decent portions. Unfortunately it was neither good nor filling. On the way home the three of us were discussing what we would eat when we got home. I was actually hungrier when I left than when I arrived. I ordered crab claws as a dinner with coleslaw and french fries. I asked if that would come with hushpuppies and was told no. That proved to be for the best as my husband gave me his and they were the frozen kind you get in the grocery store. One expects homemade hushpuppies at a seafood restaurant. The slaw was in a styrofoam cup that was only filled halfway. That also proved to be for the best as it had raisins in it. Who has ever heard of raisins in coleslaw? Fries were limp and not hot. The fries were served in the tiniest cardboard box? tray? You know, the kind that you get at concession stands. The crab claws were served in the same kind of container (tiny portion). The crab claws were tough and tasteless as they had no batter, simply dusted with flour. Grandson had the grilled talapia which he deemed "OK". His "spicy new potatoes" were not spicy and were not new. They had been boiled for so long they were black and had no seasoning nor butter at all. He also had green beans that were canned and had some sort of strange seasoning in them. His corn on the cob was the tiny, frozen variety which had also been cooked so long it was brown. Hubby liked his oysters, but the accompanying scallops were no bigger around that a dime and about a half inch high. Please don't confuse this concession stand arrangement (you walk up to the counter, are given a paper menu, order, find a seat and then your food is delivered in all paper products) with a real seafood restaurant. The cashier asked if I wanted to add a tip which I did. But, when I saw the system (you clear you own table and throw all the paper plates and trays in the trash besides making your own drink and ordering from the counter), I removed the tip. The food was the worst I have had in a very long time and the price was ridiculous. Don't want to pile on but, it was 40 degrees outside and the building was freezing. We changed tables twice trying to get comfortable. There were several other diners complaining about being cold. It really is an old cotton gin hence: tin walls, extremely high ceilings in areas and appears to have no insulation. Can't imagine the heating bill for this. I would under no circumstances ever go back.
